Artists Workshops for NHS Staff

Really good to see so many of our staff involved with the workshops delivered by our exhibiting Artists from the 'Medical Museum Materials exhibition.

Painter Jo Morley had a sell out session sharing her skills and experience in the use of colour in painting objects. Participants were able to really explore the concept of colour, creating their own canvases, in just an hour! You can see Jo Morley's fascinating painting of the Project Curator and Project Officer surrounded by the Medical Museum collection on display at Royal Derby Hospital.

Ceramics Artist Elaine Lim Newton worked with staff to show how she's been inspired by patterns, lines, layers and textures in the collection using clay. The group used different tools to create their own 'tiles' covered with delicate patterns found in the collection. One participant created the most amazing 'Gorilla' portrait! Elaine also gave an online demonstration of origami to UHDB Wellbeing Champions which showed just how calming the art of origami is.
